Here is the info I mentioned I was going to email you - about the tarpaulin we are selling.
Just wanted to let you know a bit of back ground to us developing this Tarp.
Basically after our last meeting in WA we at AUST-TEK were developing a heavy industrial tarp and at the time we thought that industrial heavy duty tarp would be the best seller; but after a lot of thinking and contemplating all the times we purchased a tarp ourselves and what uses we put them to and therefore need to address, we realised that there was a market for a low cost, new generation "easy to use" tarp.
We have all purchased so many tarps for many different purposes. In the last 2 years I have purchased around 8 tarps, and also everyone I know who I have asked has purchased a number of tarps for many different purposes.
For our investigation we were contemplating all the purposes that we purchased a tarp for, such as: to cover up wood in backyard so it stays dry, we used it to cover up our table tennis table, to cover up our bikes so they don't rust, cover up a BBQ, and in general - covering up stuff in the backyard so that it does not get wet and ruined.
So many times I have personally purchased a tarp to either keep dirt in or out, for example, if you don't want to get your carpet dirty - I would typically put a tarp down to protect carpet from dirt, dust or paint, or if you want to put something dirty in your boot - I would lay a tarp down to protect the boot, or back seat for transporting the dog and so on.
Also there are so many uses in the back yard - to keep things from getting wet or damaged by effects of weather. And not to mention the multiple times I have purchased a tarp as a ground sheet, for keeping people and things off the soil, and even picnics to put food on and keep people off the wet ground, and of course the many many uses for camping. And last but not least to make some shade if you are in the hot sun, or if its raining and you want to set up a quick cover to keep everything dry.
It is a multi use item here are just some of the many uses:

With all these uses in mind we realised that making an industrial heavy duty tarp is not what most people are seeking. Most people want something that is versatile, easy to use, aesthetically pleasing and great value. Using an industrial heavy duty material is superfluous for most of the uses that tarpaulins are most commonly used for; and will compromise its versatility, usability and cost.
Basically Smart Tarp is more versatile than the other tarps because it is easier to use.
Just as with the modern synthetic lightweight fabric tent replacing the old heavy canvas tents, this fabric tarp WILL displace the old tarp material. Because this fabric tarp is simply better then the old plastic tarps, no one doubts that, it was just that up till now the fabric material tarp was just way too expensive to make a reasonable attempt to dominate the market. But now we have a chance to be the first to introduce these superior class of tarps to the market at a very low price so as to get into the everyday use tarp.
